Where is Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro now?

After he was absent from the first half of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 6, Ronnie returned for the season's second half.

Ronnie's return to JSFV coincided with his ex-girlfriend Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola's comeback as well.

"For many years, Ronnie was concentrating on his mental health," said Mike the Situation.

"I think that is a very sensitive topic and not everyone knows how to deal with that topic."

He told Dexerto: "I had, for many months, always had check-ins with Ron already.

"And as he continued to do the right thing, we saw Ron more, and that’s why you see him on the season this year because he, you know, continued to do the right thing."

Since resurfacing on the series, Ron has sold his Los Angeles home.

After selling the property, he relocated to Miami and has maintained primary physical custody of his and Jenn Hartley's daughter Ariana.

JSFV season 7 saw Ronnie reunite with Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, the former couple dated from 2009 to 2014.

While the former has started living in Miami with his daughter, Sammi is engaged to Justin May.

Why did Ronnie leave Jersey Shore: Family Vacation?

On April 21, 2021, Ronnie was arrested and detained at Van Nuys Jail for a domestic violence incident.

On May 13 of the same year, he announced he was temporarily departing JSFV for mental health-related reasons.

"After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I've ignored too long," Ronnie stated via Instagram.

"My number one goal now is facing my struggles head-on.

"This process will be difficult but my #1 priority is to get healthy, and be the best man, and the best father I can for my daughter."

Ronnie's lawyers Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine further explained: "He is currently seeking medical treatment for psychological issues that he has ignored for a long time.

"His only present goal is to address these issues professionally and make himself [a] better person and the best father he can be to his loving daughter."
