There are four events that take place that day - bobsleigh, cross-country skiing, curling and ice hockey - before we are gifted another fantastic closing ceremony.

When is the Winter Olympics 2022 closing ceremony?

The Winter Olympics is set to conclude on Sunday February 20 with the closing ceremony.

The ceremony is due to begin at 8pm CST, meaning it will be shown from 12pm in the UK.

How to watch Winter Olympics 2022 closing ceremony

The closing ceremony will be shown live on BBC one, beginning at midday and ending at 14:30 GMT following on from coverage of the day’s events shown on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.

Highlights will also be shown on BBC Two at 7pm.

What happens in the Winter Olympics 2022 closing ceremony?

Traditionally, the ceremony will include a parade of flags representing all participating nations.

Medals from the final event of the Games are usually presented to the winners and remaining Olympians march in a parade of athletes.

The Olympic flag is lowered and the flag of the next host country is raised alongside the flag of the current host.

The Games are declared closed during a speech by the International Olympic Committee President, Thomas Bach, followed by the extinguishing of the Olympic flame.

The competition will officially end with a fireworks shadow.
