  • The 2023-2024 student calendar was approved by the Board of Education on Thursday, November 10th, 2022.

    A few things to note that are different between the 2023-2024 student calendar and the 2022-2023 student calendar:
    • The calendar replaces the regular 2-HR early releases for professional development with two additional full days for professional development instead (four total). We have received feedback from staff that full days are more conducive to effective PD and are preferable to the shortened days for early releases;
    • The calendar includes an earned day off for staff on October 9th, November 20th, and March 29th to compensate for time spent working parent-teacher conferences;
    • The calendar includes a full week already built in for Thanksgiving break;
    • The calendar includes a staff work day on Tuesday, January 2nd to provide staff a day to come back after break and get caught up/prepared to begin the second semester - students will return on Wednesday, January 3rd;
    • The calendar includes no school on Friday, May 17th or 24th due to the state track meet hosted at Jefferson City High School, which brings in millions of dollars in economic impact to our community;
    • The calendar captures many of the priorities staff have shared in recent years, including: additional PD days; providing an extended winter break; providing a full week for spring break; and ending school earlier (pending weather make-up days).
