Since its debut in April 2020, Outer Banks has taken the world by storm and made us all want to be dubbed an official "Pogue." The Netflix original series began streaming at the beginning of the pandemic and quickly became an on-screen getaway for fans. But after the ending of Season 2, which brought jaw-dropping cliff-hangers and new beloved characters, Outer Banks fans have been left wondering "So, when are we getting Season 3?" Luckily, the wait is almost over! Here's what we know so far.

Outer Banks Season 3: Release date, cast and more.

Back in December 2021, Netflix announced that Outer Banks was returning for a third season (yes, it's been that long!). The show's cast and crew took to social media to share the exciting news with fans:

The show's social media team even gave us these oh-so-relatable memes as we patiently await the next season:

Right when our patience was wearing a little thin, Netflix announced the official release date and it was finally revealed that Outer Banks Season 3 premieres February 23 exclusively on the Netflix streaming service.

The show set in the picturesque Outer Banks of North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina, follows a group of friends dubbed as "Pogues" as they embark on a real-life treasure hunt after the main character, John B, enlists his friends to join him to find the same legendary treasure that caused his father to go missing. We're talking millions of dollars in gold! Of course, with a treasure like that on the loose, the Pogues aren't the only ones after the gold and have to dodge some life threatening situations along the way.

Now, if you haven't seen Season 2 or would like to avoid some spoilers, it'd probably be best to end here!

Even after barely escaping police and people who would rather see them dead, the Pogues made it out alive in Season 2 and even brought a new addition to the tight-knit friend group. Our favorite characters will be joining Season 3, including Chase Stokes (John B), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kaira), Jonathan Daviss (Pope) and Rudy Pankow (J.J.). Now, fans can expect to see a lot more of Carlacia Grant (Cleo) who went from being a potential threat to the Pogues to the newest member after helping them escape to a deserted island that they name "Poguelandia."

Needless to say, fans are amped up to find some much needed answers about John B's father who may not be dead after being missing for years, find out the fate of Sarah's convoluted family, and, of course, discover the legendary treasure.

How can you stream Outer Banks?

Luckily, streaming Outer Banks is as easy as opening the Netflix app and hitting play. As a Netflix original series, every season is exclusively available on Netflix to stream anytime and anywhere you wish.
