When I check my status today, it shows

"The current status of your application:

We have completed an initial review of your application. Due to the competitive nature of our admission process, we will not begin sending admission decisions until February. We appreciate your patience during this process. We will contact you by email, so check your email account regularly for messages from CSULB. Be sure to respond to our requests as soon as possible but no later than the deadline given."

Does this look alarming?

No, it is same message my son has gotten for a long time.

Good to know

My application status was updated to this:

“Your application has been reviewed and we have determined that you are on track to meet CSU minimum requirements. Your application will now be considered in the competitive round of admission review. We will begin making admission decisions in February and appreciate your patience during this process. We will contact you by email, so check your email account regularly for messages from CSULB. Be sure to respond to our requests as soon as possible but no later than the deadline given”

10 posts were split to a new thread: CSU Long Beach 2022 Transfers

That’s odd, my status hasn’t updated yet. Do they do rolling admission?

How do you check your status? I only received an email from CSULB saying they got my application, but no portal.

At the bottom of the email saying they got your app, there should be a ID number. You use that on the CSULB website to check your status. I will see if I can find a link for you.

Has anybody else’s status update changed to, " “Your application has been reviewed and we have determined that you are on track to meet CSU minimum requirements. Your application will now be considered in the competitive round of admission review. We will begin making admission decisions in February and appreciate your patience during this process. We will contact you by email, so check your email account regularly for messages from CSULB."?

Yes, my son’s has been in that status since at least 1/20.

Oh okay, thank you! Best of luck to your son.

I have moved several transfer posts to a new discussion for 2022 Transfer applicants. This discussion is for Freshman.

Thank you! I was offered provisional admission today. Did anyone else here get the same?

Also, does provisional admission mean I am accepted and just have to verify the information I submitted in my application?

From CSULB website:

Provisional admission indicates that admission requirements are in progress and must be successfully completed prior to enrollment at CSULB. Most first-time-freshmen applicants are still attending high school at the time of application (October-November for the following Fall), and admission decisions are normally made in March. Therefore, offers of Admission made to first-time freshman applicants are almost always provisional and remain provisional until the following admission requirements are met:

  • Completion of all senior year courses with a grade of “C” or higher.
  • Completion of all CSU A-G subject requirements with a grade of “C” or higher by the end of the Spring semester prior to enrollment.
  • Graduate from High School by the end of the Spring semester prior to your enrollment.

Failure to meet these conditions will result in the rescinding of the admission offer which will prevent enrollment. If enrollment is desired in the future, a new application must be submitted for that term and applicants must meet all of the admission requirements in effect at that time.
