Country stars Jimmie Allen and LeAnn Rimes will help 2022 get off to a good start, delivering some of the year’s first musical performances at the 133rd Rose Parade.

After being canceled last year due to Covid-19, the parade will once more return to Pasadena, California, on January 1, serving as the pre-game celebration for college football’s 2022 Rose Bowl.

Set to begin at 10 am CT, the long-running parade will get underway with an appearance by Rimes, who will reportedly deliver a custom-made performance. She has remixed the song “Throw My Arms Around the World” specifically for the parade, bringing a unifying message to a new year.

Meanwhile, Allen is set to headline the Rose Parade with an event-capping statement of his own. The Grammy nominated CMA New Artist of the Year will perform “Good Time Roll” with a four-piece band — and he’ll have some jaw-dropping help from the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights parachute team. The Golden Knights will drop in after Allen’s moment while Tik Tok drumming sensation Timothy Fletcher does his thing, and then “toss” viewers over to the Rose Bowl, where 7th-ranked Ohio State will take on 10th-ranked Utah. The game is scheduled for 4 pm CT on ESPN.

The parade will also feature American Idol alum, Laine Hardy, Grand Marshal LeVar Burton and more.

It will be a busy way to start the year for Allen, who will also be performing the night before. He joins a long list of stars for CBS’ New Years LIVE: Nashville’s Big Bash, including Blake Shelton, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley and more.
