Welcome to another installment of Wordle, where normally I do these right at midnight, but a lack of sleep with a newborn caused me to forget until this morning. Hopefully you have all survived my absence.

Something fun I learned about Wordle players this week from a new survey: “According to a new survey of more than 1,000 Wordle players, 95% say they feel accomplished when they correctly guess the Wordle. That doesn’t mean there aren’t cheaters…more than 1 in 10 admit to cheating by either looking up the word or using word lists. But nearly half (48%) report thinking less of people who play Wordle and cheat.”

And so here we are, right? Or you’re just checking your correct answer, right? Don’t worry, I’m not judging.

Today’s Wordle #305 Answer And Hint

Before we get any further, I will give you a spoiler warning in case you have truly somehow ended up here by accident. Not sure how that happens, but hey, it’s possible, I suppose. If you are just here for the hint instead, I will say that this is both a type of plane, and pants. You’ll see.

And the answer is...

Cargo!

Cargo plane, cargo pants. Cargo pants were a staple of my youth, and you may be able to guess how old I am just based on that alone. Weird word format today, so here’s how I got there.

I started with my usual CRANE, and that really hit big this time. C in the right place, and R and A in there to boot. Figured I could not screw this up if I tried with that kind of start. From there, I went with CARDS, even though I have not seen them do any plural words for a long time now. That got me the right order for CAR and I was on my way. Then I did CAROL, which technically qualified as a potentially correct answer from there, but that wasn’t it. But the...O was in the wrong spot? With CAR_O, there was really only one more option, and it wasn’t CARLO (no proper names!). It was CARGO, and we got the answer.

How did you do today? We all may know what cargo is, but words ending in O are pretty weird, so wondering if that screwed anyone up.
