AL Rookie of the Year Odds & Best Bets 2023

Last Updated: Sep 8, 2023

An injury to Rangers 3B Josh Jung opened the race for AL Rookie of the Year. It didn’t take long for players to rush up the odds board for the best new player in the Junior Circuit.

Let’s take a look at our updated 2023 AL Rookie of the Year Award predictions and best bets.

AL Rookie of the Year Odds 2024

AL Rookie of the Year MLB betting odds are current as of Friday, Sept. 8 from Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Gunnar Henderson, SS, Orioles (-900)

  • Masataka Yoshida, OF, Red Sox (+2500)
  • Josh Jung, 3B, Rangers (+5000)
  • J.P. France, SP, Astros (+5000)

Jung tumbles down the odds list, while a second Red Sox vaults into contention.

AL Rookie of the Year Best Bet 2024

Masataka Yoshida, Boston Red Sox (+2500)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Yoshida gets the nod for the best bet. He is neck-and-neck with Henderson for counting stats, though his (+2500) price is much easier to stomach than Henderson’s (-900).

Henderson has the defensive edge, but as long as the Red Sox continue to vie for a Wild Card spot, Yoshida is live to win.

Just don’t look at his WAR compared to the favorite.

AL Rookie of the Year Contenders 2024

Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles (-900)

Caesars Sportsbook

We’re officially in no-bet territory for AL Rookie of the Year. Henderson has helped the youthful Orioles vault into not only AL East contention, but AL Pennant and World Series Champion contention as well.

The Orioles third baseman is 0.8 WAR ahead of Jung, and while he hasn’t played in weeks due to thumb surgery, it is okay to think that Jung would ebb and flow with his bat and glove.

If Jung was healthy and the Rangers weren’t tumbling down the standings, this race would be live. Regardless, Henderson and Jung are bright spots in baseball and are looking like stars for the next decade.
