Thor: Love and Thunder: How Many Post-Credit Scenes Does the Movie Have?

The article below contains heavy spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder.

Thor: Love and Thunder is out in theatres a day early in India on July 7 and it introduces a number of new characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale is the most prominent one among these, but the film’s post-credit scene also introduces another new character into the franchise.

Thor: Love and Thunder Has Two Post-Credit Scenes

The First Post-Credit Scene

Marvel movies recently have two post-credit scenes and the same is the case with the fourth Thor film. The first scene lays out a slate for the future in the MCU. It opens with Zeus, played by Russel Crowe, who is tending to the wound inflicted on him by Thor earlier in the film. Zeus acknowledges that Gods have been replaced by superheroes in this age, but believes they are nothing more than a joke and need to be striked down.

He then orders his son Hercules to take down Thor and his superhero friends. The camera is focused on Zeus for most of his monologue. It then reveals Hercules, who is played by Brett Goldstein.

The Second Post-Credit Scene

The second Thor: Love and Thunder post-credit scene takes place near the end of the credits and shows Jane Foster's fate. Thor’s love interest who wielded Mjölnir dies in Thor’s arms after their final battle against Gorr.

The scene shows that Jane entered Valhalla, which is a realm where Asgardian warriors who lost their lives in battle are allowed to enter. There, Jane meets Heimdall, who welcomes her and expresses gratitude towards her for protecting his son Axl, played by Kieron L. Dyer. They then walk further inside Valhalla, to seemingly spend the rest of eternity there.

Heimdall, played by Idris Elba, appeared in previous Thor and Avengers movies. He died in Infinity War, however, so him appearing again shows the possibility of him resurrecting later on.
