Ping has yet to release the i59’s and historically, I believe, they only release one iron series at a time.  I could easily see the i525 irons with an early 2022 release and i230’s in late 2022.

I59 are mid-late summer and i525 late summer or early fall. Got that from a sales friend who talked with their rep the other day

Crazy how early they pulled the i500s? I did a fitting in March. I wanted to look at i500 for 5-6(7i) and they said they were not allowed to book orders or sell them anymore

This one is a mystery to me. Not sure what made them change their mind. Maybe they couldn’t get enough components built to supply the demand so they are going to build up stock and release in the spring.

I have no idea what they are saying...  but there is some info about the i525.  I hope the final version does NOT look like those in the video...  I never hit an i500 but think they are a good looking, clean head...

You can use close caption to get the jest of what he is saying..

I also heard the same thing from a Ping rep. He said hopefully Spring. He also told me the I59 could just be a tour proto. So who knows.

That gets said about a lot of irons that always get released.  Ping Blueprint for example.   Big money has been spent on creating an iron that polished looking.  I’ll bet everything I have that they aren’t protos.

I am not sure where this rumor came from about spring of 2022 but it’s not accurate. Will have i59 and i510 and new wedge release in the fall. I’m not here to argue so take it how you want.

I hope you are right. I’ve been told three different things from my Ping contact in the last two weeks.

I was told November is our reps best guess, but it sounds like Ping went quiet when they were supposed to be giving them a timeline.  Makes me concerned it gets delayed again

So here's what I was told by the head guy at Golf Galaxy yesterday.  The i210 is going away for sure.  There WILL be an i-series iron of some sort; the retailers are sort of assuming that it will be hollow head technology, so you could think of it as a i500 "update".  He is still assuming a late summer release, BUT he thinks it won't be released until Ping's production capabilities are back to something approaching normal.  I think everybody has been horrified by the delays with the G425's, and I think the retailers won't be happy with doing fittings and then seeing customers wait 10 weeks or more for delivery.

With Ping heads cast in China, the supply chain is likely the culprit. Wonder if they are regretting shuttering the domestic casting of clubs at this point.

Doesn't that assume that the casting house is the bottleneck?   I've read that shafts and grips are the primary culprit in OEM backlogs.

Demand for steel, among other things, is currently exceeding supply.   That's a problem regardless of where the casting is done.

Just returned from a 5 day trip to Pinehurst. The local golf shops there (Robert's, Augusta Golf) have very little grip selection in stock. Both say they can't get resupply due to supply chain interruption. Stopped at Golf Galaxy in Greensboro on the way home and same story.

No idea if grip shortage is nationwide but there seems to be a shortage of all components at some level.

That was always their big advantage when they owned Dolphin. They controlled the QC and production.

If you guys take a look at tgw or something and customise an order with a different grip, you can see things go from 8 weeks to 1-2. I think that's your culprit right now.

Yer this. In Australia a simple golf pride tour velvet is on back order until SEPTEMBER. I know one club builder who was called by a rep of a big company asking for his grip stock so they can fulfil orders.

I also know someone who placed an order and was told up to 10 weeks. Asked why to be told the grip. Asked for the clubs with no grips. Arrived the following Wednesday!

It's fairly unlikely that the "hollow players" category would shift from a 500 to a 230, since in the recent past, things have been fairly sequential. 400->410->425, etc.

It doesn't mean it won't happen, but it's more likely that the i 200->210 series dropped to i59 since it's slotting into the spot behind Blueprints. Either they're working on two i series irons (59 & 230) which is unlikely, or they trademarked both and marketing went with i59. It would be hard to think that they'd have two "i" irons AND also move a 5xx to a 2xx model.

Very likely the "i230" trademark won't be used; same as many things they trademark.
