We can safely assume that the app has completely changed how we communicate online. Snapchat, like any other social media platform, facilitates communication with your friends.

But there’s a catch: once your contacts see it, it’ll vanish. But don’t worry; the app allows you to preserve those messages for a while if you want.

Sending and receiving snaps is an excellent way to relax. But what if, in the spur of the moment, you send something stupid or awkward? This is when we wish the ground to swallow us whole, isn’t it?

The disappearing messages save our back, but what if the person on the other end decides to save them? That would turn out to be a problem then.

And we often wonder how to delete Snapchat messages that the person has saved on the other end.

So, if you’re in the same boat as us, have a look at this blog that can tech you how to unsave messages on Snapchat that the other person saved.

How to Delete Snapchat Messages the Other Person Saved

When we mistakenly send irrelevant messages or snaps to someone, we scramble our wits to remove them as fast as humanly possible. We usually rely on the internet or YouTube for guidance in discovering ways how to get out of this mess.

But did you know that Snapchat can come to your rescue? We can’t assure that the strategy will work since, sadly, sometimes it doesn’t.

However, it is advisable to put it to the test first since who knows; it could work for you. Furthermore, there are some logical reasons why the method does not succeed, so give it a chance first while your friends explore other possibilities.

Let’s have a look at how this strategy works.

Method 1: Delete Snapchat Messages the Other Person Saved

Step 1: Launch your official Snapchat app from Android or iPhone. Scroll down to go to your friend’s chat which has the message you wish to delete.

Step 2: Next, long press on the message that needs to get deleted, you will end up receiving multiple options, which are Save in Chat, Copy, Chat Reply, Snap Reply, and also Delete option is present. Skip all the options and directly tap on the Delete option.

Step 3: A pop-up will box might appear with a Learn more or OK option. The Learn more usually appears if it is your first time using this feature. So, click on Ok next.

The message will also notify you that the removal of messages from Snapchat’s servers and the other person’s device might not work. It is because the person on the other end has a poor internet connection or has an old version of the app.

Step 4: At the end, you need to click on Delete and the message. Also, you must note that the person on the other end will see an in-chat notification suggesting that you have deleted a message from your end.

Method 2: Blocking Them is Another Great Option

We do agree that the approach is very extreme, but isn’t the problem itself intense? When we send somebody messages that they aren’t supposed to see, it makes us uneasy but having them see it is much more nerve-wracking. So, in some cases, such as this, blocking someone is a viable option.

To ensure the accuracy of this strategy, you must block them within a few seconds. Furthermore, if you can execute it without them ever opening the messages, this could work to your advantage. If you keep them blocked for an extended period of time, Snapchat will delete the messages and snaps if they are not viewed for a long time. As a result, it won’t matter whether you unblock them later because the messages will have gone by then.

However, if the other person has already saved the messages before you block them, you may need to unblock them and then manually delete them, as described in the previous method. Unless you plan to block them indefinitely, the first technique is preferable.

Step 1: Open Snapchat and locate the user you wish to block. Their names might appear on the top few on the screen since you might have just messaged them. Otherwise, use the search feature at the top of the screen to find their names.

Step 2: Open the conversation with the person and click on their profile icon. You will get three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the screen; tap on them.

Step 3: There would be three options, namely, Report, Block, Remove friend. Tap on the Block option.

Step 4: A prompt asking for confirmation to Block will appear on the screen; click on it.

Method 3: Third-Party Applications

There are a number of third-party apps that advertise to let you delete messages that the people on the other side have saved. Snapchat does not allow a number of third-party apps due to obvious security reasons. So, you must first review the rules and then use them. When you start looking for these apps, a large number of them might surface.

We encourage that you pick wisely after reading their feedback or consulting someone who has used them before. Remember to investigate the credentials they’re requesting attentively before granting them authorization. There are a number of scam apps available on the internet, so be vigilant.

Can my friend still see the message if I clear the conversation?

Yes, they will still be able to see those messages even if you have cleared the chat since the clearing happens on your end. So, if you do not want them to see it, you must delete them before they open it. That way, they will only receive an in-chat alert that the message has been deleted, but they won’t get access to the message.
