The first round of the first major event of the year proved how harsh the conditions were at the course. The scoring conditions in the first round were +1.83 strokes per round. Not to mention, the weather conditions made Augusta even more challenging. Professionals will have a tough time ahead as the event moves into Friday. Traditionally when the Masters was played in 1957, a 36 holes cutline would help low 40 players and the ties to move into the weekend.

But with the recent ruling, low 50 players and ties will be able to play at Augusta during the weekend. A total of 59 players are at two-over-par or better. Moreover, with only a limited number of players being able to make the cutline, let’s look at some of the cutline predictions heading into the second round on Friday.

According to datagolf, the top three cut line predictions for the 2022 Masters are two-over-par. The cutline of two-over-par has the lowest possibility of 13.5 percent, followed by three-over-par, which has a probability of 35.9 percent. The last predictive cutline score that will come into force after the second round on Friday is four-over-par, with a chance of 34.7 percent. Not to forget that Augusta has some tricky holes with narrow fairways where club selection is the key.

Moreover, the 10th and the 11 holes play as one of the most challenging holes on the golf course, followed by the par 3 12th and the par-five fifth hole, which are also not easy for professionals. Considering all the factors in mind, seeing how many players advance into the weekend at Augusta will be interesting.
