COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Haskell Garrett has reached an agreement with the Tennessee Titans after not being selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, according to On3 Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
He joins Nicholas Petit-Frere — selected in the third round — as players headed to the Titans.
Originally a top-100 recruit in the 2017 class, he made headlines when he was shot in the face on a Columbus street in August 2020, later telling police he was attempting to break up a fight between a man and woman he did not know.
But he triumphed over potential tragedy a few weeks later, making critical plays to help OSU win its season opener against Nebraska. He combined with nose guard Tommy Togiai to be an effective tackle combo on a run to the national championship game. He returned in 2021 to record a team-high 5.5 sacks despite an ankle injury suffered at midseason that did not heal. He also played through a shoulder injury during the Senior Bowl week.
Garrett ended his career with 62 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks while also holding a pick-six and a defensive fumble recovery touchdown.
