How long does it take to change name on my green card?
A week ago I received GC based on approved VAWA. Green card is on my married name. (When I filed I485, I was still legally married). I am officially divorced now. My passport is on my maiden name, but green card - on my married name. I need to change my green card name. How long does it take and what steps to take?
Can I travel abroad before I change my last name on GC?

It can take 9 month for USCIS to produce a nice new green card for you. You'll be surprised how little you use your green card. As long as your driver license has the name you are going by now, you won't have to look at the other one very often while you are waiting. Congratulations on your new status.

I agree with Irina. You can travel abroad. Carry the documentation of the name succession with you in case you are called for secondary inspection.
