Out of all the benefits offered by the United States Government during the global pandemic, the Child Tax Credit has to be amongst the most helpful for households. There is a limit of up to $1,800 that many families have already gotten in order to help their families. These credits apply to all parents who support one of more child inside their home.

They get a certain amount depending on how many children they need to feed and pay for their living expenses. But there is an alarming number of people who still haven't gotten the chance to collect their Child Tax Credit benefit in 2022. In many cases, some people weren't eligible but there are also some instances where the people who could get this benefit simply weren't enrolled for the program.

Enhanced Federal Child Tax Credits did expire in 2022, but...

Families can still claim the extra cash for this Child Tax Credit if they didn't get, regardless of getting past the expiration date for it. The most recent payment was sent for families all the way back in December 15. These payments were all part of the American Rescue Plan, the first payments of this program were rolled out in July, 2021.

Families who got it received an added $300 monthly per child under the age of six that shot up all the way to $1,800 in many cases. Households with children between six and 17 for $250 per child and their amount shot up to $1,500. But we will tell you what to do if you are still waiting for this money.

First of all, check in with the IRS. The Internal Revenue Service has an online portal where people can check if their are still eligible to collect their Child Tax Credit payment or if they are even enrolled. There are a number of questions you will have to answer on that list.

With the most obvious one being if you claimed your CTC during your most recent tax return and if you plan to claim it on your 2021 return of you haven't already filed. If your answer to that is 'no', then you don't qualify for advance CTC payments. Lastly, make sure all your information is up to date because that will affect your payments.
