Xbox Game Pass has already added a number of games for May 2022, including some brand-new, day one releases. Some of the new games added to Xbox Game Pass in May 2022 include black-and-white samurai action game Trek to Yomi and cyberpunk narrative game Citizen Sleeper, with even more Game Pass releases on the way later in the month. But while there have been plenty of new games added to Xbox Game Pass in May 2022 and even more are on the way, there are also some titles that will be leaving the service as well.
Most of the time, Microsoft removes games from Xbox Game Pass in the middle of the month, meaning titles are given the boot on the 15th. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. Sometimes the bigger, more high profile game releases are removed on a completely different day, likely due to the contract that Microsoft inked out for the games to be included in Xbox Game Pass in the first place.
An example of this is Destiny 2. When Destiny 2 was removed from the vanilla version of Xbox Game Pass, it did so separately from the other games that were removed that month, and the same can be said for when the PC version was removed this past April. Now Grand Theft Auto fans need to be made aware of a game in that series being removed from Xbox Game Pass on a day separate from the other game Pass removals, as today is the last day for subscribers to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition.

For the uninitiated, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition is the remastered version of the critically-acclaimed San Andreas. While the original version of San Andreas is often considered to be one of the best video games ever made, the remaster hasn't earned the same praise. As a matter of fact, San Andreas - The Definitive Edition has been critically panned for being bogged down by glitches and a host of other problems.
Even so, Rockstar Games has updated Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition to improve the experience for fans, and some GTA enthusiasts may still be sad to see it go. However, as with all Xbox Game Pass games, subscribers can buy GTA San Andreas - The Definitive Edition to keep at a 20% discount while it remains on the service.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition isn't the only game being removed from Xbox Game Pass in May 2022. Six more games are being removed from Xbox Game Pass on May 15 in the form of Enter the Gungeon, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, Remnant: From the Ashes, Steep, The Catch: Carp and Coarse, and The Wild at Heart.
