Is the Post Office open on bank holiday Monday? Today’s Royal Mail opening rules explained

Most post offices should be open on Monday, but check the website to find out your local's opening hours

Many people across the UK are enjoying an extra day off work today thanks to the early May bank holiday.

However, the price to pay for that is that some shops are closed all day, or have reduced opening hours.

Many post offices are open as normal over the bank holiday weekend and to find out the opening hours for your local, use the Post Office’s branch finder.

There will be no deliveries and collections on Monday, and some post is still being delayed due to the pandemic.

“Throughout the pandemic, and now, we remain open for business,” a Post Office statement said.

“To manage the effects of coronavirus-related absences and necessary social distancing measures, such as reducing the number of people together in shared spaces and vehicles, we have implemented a range of mitigations.

“These include changing the time guarantee on special delivery items and updating opening hours of customer service points at local delivery offices.”
