When you're leaving your computer or mobile unattended for a while, it's always a good idea to log out of your social media accounts. Doing so gives you the peace of mind that no one will be able to sneak onto your account and embarrass you - or, worse, access your personal information. Signing out of X, formerly known as Twitter, is quick and easy - read on below the jump to learn how to do it!

Things You Should Know

  • To log out on most devices, click your profile picture and select "Log Out."
  • Uncheck "Remember me" when logging in to avoid the browser remembering your account info, thus signing you in the next time you visit the site.
  • You can also remove accounts from you account list to keep them from being accessed via your account if you forget to sign out of one of them.

  1. This will log you out of the main account you're using for X Pro.
    • If you want to remove another account from your list, instead, go to "Accounts" in the navigation bar (the icon looks like two people). Click the down arrow on the account you want to leave, and then hit "Leave this team," followed by "Leave."[3]

  • Removing your account from the list will not delete your account, merely remove it from view.
  • To log out automatically when you quit, make sure "Remember me" is not enabled next time you log in. When you close the page, or quit your browser, you will be logged out.
